When I first started on the new Shiseido White Lucent range, I actually thought the Shiseido White Lucent Luminizing Surge ( Emulsion ) was meant for day use and used it for several consecutive days but found it to be too heavy for day use. It was too rich and left a shiny appearance on skin, which I didn't quite like it.

There was no indication about the product being meant for night use, not even on the trial box description, until I checked the Shiseido website. I have a tendency to read all product descriptions online, just to understand the background of the product I am slathering on the face.

To my surprise, Shiseido White Lucent Luminizing Surge ( Emulsion ) is actually a night time moisturiser, to be applied just before the night cream. I thought it was too heavy, to slather all 4 steps ( toner, spot corrector, emulsion and night cream ) in the night. Personally, I will prefer to do without the emulsion but to jump to the night cream directly. Still, I have to try it, just to reap any benefits, if any.

Apparently, this is a 2 step moisturising regime, created by Shiseido - a lightweight emulsion to hydrate, followed by a cream to seal in the benefits and prevent moisture loss. The emulsion is supposed to protect and boost skin's protective barrier while delivering its whitening benefits to the skin at the same time.

Shiseido White Lucent Luminizing Surge ( Emulsion ) has a lotion texture that seems light and applies well on skin which seems to get absorbed into skin, yet left a slightly shiny look on the face, which I didn't quite like it. It has a similar floral scent, with the rest of the products in the same range.

The emulsion seems to be out of sync with the rest of the products, for my skin type. It seems rich for day time usage, even if I applied that alone, after the spot corrector (serum). At night, I feel that the night cream is nourishing enough, without the emulsion. Layering both the emulsion and the night cream just feels overwhelming on my skin, leaving some slight clogged pores on my cheeks and beside my nose.

How about the rest of the products in the same range? Read more about it below.
