Review : Clinique All About Eyes

Clinique All About Eyes ingredients
Product Description
An award-winning, lightweight eye cream-gel that diminishes the appearance of eye puffiness, darkness, and fine lines. This nourishing cream-gel formulation brightens dark circles and sends puffiness packing while actually helping to hold eye makeup in place. It refreshes and brightens eye area and is recommended for use morning and night, both under eyes and on lids.

Active Ingredients :
Scutellariabaicalensis root extract : a natural ingredient that moisturizes the skin deeply and reduces inflammation as well as addresses eye puffiness
Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate and Camellia Sinensis : antioxidants that help protect the skin from free radical and UV damage

Formulated without parabens, 100% fragrance free, allergy tested and opthalmologist tested, this 15ml Clinique All About Eyes seems like a product which addresses most of the eye area concerns, including mine. I gotten it for AUD46.40 in Sydney last year.

It is much cheaper on Amazon where you can get at US$17.40 for 2x7ml sizes ( prices fluctuate so grab the deal before its gone ), sizes which are simply great for travelling.

The most problematic area of mine, is always the eyes. Despite having long eyelashes and big round eyes, I am never confident enough to step out of the house with contact lenses, mainly because of my hereditary eye bags. The skin around the eyes is very thin and delicate, hence requires special care - no vigorous rubbing ( advice which fell on deaf ears when I was younger ).

A little goes a long way and I have been using this for close to 6 months on a nightly basis which I reckon will last for another 2 months or so. Clinique All About Eyes has a velvety smooth texture which seems rich upon contact with skin but gets absorbed after a short while. But as I was wary of millia seeds, I tend to prefer using it in the night, on top of an eye serum at times.

The tub packaging is not an ideal one as it exposes the contents to air and light very frequently, thus reducing the effectiveness of active ingredients.

As with every new eye product, I usually hope to see some improvement, in this case, darkness and fine lines but unfortunately, I did not see any improvement with Clinique All About Eyes. Upon every application, my eyes feels soft and smooth to the touch, hydrated and less dry but in the long term, I have not seen a dramatic improvement to the undereye dryness.

In terms of ingredients, the number 1 on the list is Cyclopentasiloxane which meant silicones that provides the velvety smooth texture. An active ingredient that does something positive for the eyes would be better much preferred as the top few ingredients.
