I redeemed a complimentary Shiseido trial set recently, which I thought was a good marketing gimmick for one to try the "almost" whole series before committing to the full size.

The trial set consists of 7ml Shiseido Luminizing Infuser ( Essence Lotion ), 5ml Shiseido MicroTargeting Spot Corrector ( Serum), 7ml Shiseido Luminizing Surge ( Emulsion ) and 5ml Shiseido MultiBright Night Cream.

The fancy sounding names can be quite a handful and may be confusing for some people who are not really into skincare, like my mum ( who buy products sporadically ) hence I really appreciate the thoughtful gesture from Shiseido folks to include those terms in the brackets, such as lotion, serum, emulsion and night cream. It just simplifies everything.

And there is even a small directive on the box, indicating which product to start off first.
I will be the first to admit that when I first received the box, I was totally confused which is which. I read and read, trying to figure out, because the illustration of the products was in a different order than the actual products display so I thought I could be deciphering it wrong. The fancy sounding names also added to my confusion.

Everything becomes crystal clear after I notice the lotion, serum, emulsion terms in the description. Silly me!

My mum tends to get confused with all the fancy sounding names on skincare products and I always have to explain to her what it meant, indicating step 1, 2, 3, etc to her. It could be because of the fancy sounding names, the tiny fonts or her poor memory even though my mum understands English perfectly well.
I thought it would be good for skincare companies to indicate steps number ( like Dr. Wu's products in the past ) or having larger fonts in certain descriptions.

Meant for normal, dry, oily and combination skin, Shiseido White Lucent Luminizing Infuser ( Essence Lotion ) has an essence type of texture, slightly sticky yet filled with moisture to penetrate into skin. It is said to help in dark spots, dryness, dullness and uneven texture.

It is a softener to be used as the first step after cleansing. Like a Vitamin C drip, which injects whitening ingredients directly into the blood vessels to circulate throughout the body for brighter skin, this luminizing infuser is suppose to deliver ingredients deeper for more immediate results.

The Estetica skin analyzer at a seminar I attended recently, "measured" that my skin has poor radiance so I was keen to improve that, with this new range from Shiseido. The 7ml trial size lasts me for about a week, based on once or twice a day usage. Shiseido White Lucent Luminizing Infuser ( Essence Lotion ) is used up much faster, due to its runny texture, as compared to the rest of the products in the same range.

The fragrance of Shiseido White Lucent Luminizing Infuser ( Essence Lotion ) is strong, typical of Shiseido products. It applies well, absorb easily and dehydrated skin feels relieved of the parched sensation as it awaits for the next product to be applied.
