Beauty Secrets From Around The World

Bulgaria
Bulgarian women use rose water as a facial cleanser.
The famous Rose Valley in Bulgaria produces up to 85% of the world’s supply of rose oil, so it comes as no surprise that the women of Bulgaria have discovered the beauty benefits of this aromatic flower and its petals. Rose water is known to enhance the radiance and beauty of your skin, and is used in many skincare products across the globe.

I have tried using products with rose being part of its ingredients but most of the products did not really leave a good impression on me.

Chile
Chilean women use red grapes for luminous skin.
Red grapes are known to be full of antioxidants, and the women of Chile use this knowledge to their advantage. By mashing up a handful of grapes and mixing a couple of tablespoons of flour through the mixture to create a paste, they apply it to their face and leave it to sit for 10 minutes before rinsing off. This helps to awaken tired skin for a radiant glow.

A pretty good DIY tip which I have yet to try. But products which consist of red grapes which I have tried before, have been good experiences.

India
Indian woman use coconut oil to attain smooth, tangle-free, healthy hair.
Coconut oil acts as a natural conditioner. A little bit of this magical ingredient is all that's needed to tame those pesky flyaways. Just heat some of the oil up between your palms and massage it through your hair and scalp. Your dry and frizzy hair will be hydrated and moisture will be locked into each strand.

Coconut oil has been known as a magical ingredient since a long time ago and are widely used by Indians. Their hair always look so glossy.

I have not use the oil directly but may try it in the future. In the meantime, those products which contain coconut oil has been either a hit or miss, depending on the formula.

Brazil
Brazilian women use oatmeal to treat sunburns.
Oats are known to have anti-inflammatory properties, which is just perfect for healing sunburns. So next time you come home from the beach with sore skin that’s been blistered by the sun, try a salve made out of fine oatmeal and leave it on your skin for a few minutes to calm that burning sensation down.

Greece
The women in Greece love olive oil.
Greek women have stunning complexions, and it’s not just because of their genes. Greek women have several natural beauty secrets and adding olive oil to their diet (and lots of it!) is just one of them. Olive oil is packed full of healthy antioxidants and good fats, which promote radiant and supple skin.

I have seen how my friends' daughter's hair shone with daily application of olive oil but have yet to try it on my own hair directly. Products with the inclusion of olive oil which I have tried, have not been the best experiences though.

Greece
Greek women use rosemary water as a clarifying tonic for hair.
Here’s another Greek beauty secret that’s been used for centuries. By steeping rosemary leaves in water, a miracle deep-cleansing tonic is created that can be used to remove product buildup. To make this amazing rosemary tea for your beauty routine, boil some fresh rosemary in water. Let the mixture cool completely before removing the leaves. Rinse your hair with this tonic to achieve shiny, cleansed hair.

Have you tried using the above method? Do share if it works for you.

China
The women in China use camellia oil to combat stretch marks.
Stretch marks are pesky and look terrible in the wrong places. One solution that women from China have come up with is to thoroughly massage camellia oil into the area of concern up to two times a day - morning and before bedtime. This stimulates blood flow and helps to get rid of the unsightly appearance of stretch marks, as well as provide nourishment to the skin and fight against sagginess.

Japan
Japanese women use rice water for soft and smooth skin.
If you’ve ever washed a pot of rice to get it ready for your rice cooker, chances are you’ve noticed how soft and supple your hands feel right after submerging them in the rice-infused water. In Japan, many beauty products use extracts of rice as an ingredient to protect skin from free radicals.

The Philippines
Filipina women use aloe vera for healthy hair.
If you’ve ever seen the women of the Philippines, you’ll know that they have dark and beautiful tresses. How do they keep the strands so healthy and strong? By using the juice from the aloe vera plant, of course. Aloe vera juice contains a variety of nutrients that can benefit the scalp and even keep itchiness and dandruff at bay.
